INNOVATING WITHOUT PATIENT PARTNERS IS JUST GUESSING.

ABOUT US
Why partner with patients?
Patient partners are revolutionizing health professions training, research, policy, and healthcare delivery by lending their first-hand experience and expertise. At ExPPect, we celebrate this patient engagement revolution and want to catalyze change in even more facets of care and practice.
Who is the client?
The client can be any individual or organization who recognizes the value of patient engagement–even if they are not sure how patient engagement “works”. We work with medical educators, research entities, clinical professional societies, patient advocacy organizations, and most importantly, patient partners, to create and launch authentic patient engagement solutions.
How does it work?
The types of services provided depend a great deal on the project and client. We will work with you to create a patient engagement strategy–a plan to partner with expert patients–in the development and execution of your initiative. We can recruit patient partners for you or work with patients with whom you already have a relationship.
EXAMPLES OF EXPPECT PROJECTS

CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION COURSE
Scenario: You are interested in creating a continuing medical education course to improve shared decision-making skills of clinicians.
Solution: ExPPect recruits and prepares a panel of patient partners to contribute to the curriculum development and delivery, addressing key issues patients face in clinical encounters and bringing to light ideas and strategies for clinicians to use in patient encounters.
ANNUAL RESEARCH MEETING
Scenario: You are planning your clinical professional society’s annual meeting and would like to incorporate the “patient perspective” in the conference, but you aren’t sure what that means.
Solution: ExPPect works with you to draft a strategy for including a cadre of patient partners in various aspects of your conference. ExPPect prepares the patient partners for their roles and works with other stakeholders to ensure the meaningful inclusion of patients as partners in the conference. Patients share their insights and contribute to the discussions, enriching the conference experience for attendees.
PATIENT ENGAGEMENT STRATEGY BUILDING
Scenario: You are a new biotechnology company and want to make sure you are meeting the needs of the patients you hope to serve.
Solution: ExPPect works with you to produce a patient engagement strategy, ensuring you are ideating and co-creating with your most important end-users. ExPPect recruits patient partners or works with patients with whom you already have a relationship to onboard and prepare them for their roles.

WHERE DO I BEGIN?
That’s the beauty of ExPPect. You don’t need to know where to begin. You only need to have the inclination that partnering with patients will bring value and authenticity to your work, and we will do the rest.
